Ideating

Need: "A growing body of evidence links well-trained and supported early childhood personnel with the achievement of positive developmental outcomes for children." (Early Childhood Workforce Initiative) However, the evidence is still lacking. We still don't have an optimal profile of the workforce for delivering parenting programs. We need to better understand what roles and demographics are best suited for parenting program delivery to support effective implementation worldwide.

Concept: In order to build an understanding of what the optimal profile of workforce looks like, we need to raise awareness for the diverse set of practitioners implementing parenting programs. This starts with highlighting and disseminating what we know so far. By capturing the different roles the workforce represent in Bhutan, Rwanda, Serbian, and Zambia, we pique viewers interest to learn more about the workforce.

Social Media Storytelling in Strategic Innovation Communication

Research shows that high quality narratives can increase understanding of innovations, as well as trust of the innovators. Positive effects on understanding and trust are further magnified when telling the story through a serial form. Thus, developing social media campaigns to tell stories about the workforce to the global ECD community has the potential to increase understanding of parenting innovations, as well as trust of those innovations.

Universal Design for Learning

Digital accessibility supports access to digital products for those with visual, auditory, motor, speech, and cognitive disabilities. As part of this, the workforce GIFs below were reviewed using a Color Contrast Analyzer to ensure accessibility for those with color blindness. The results show the color combination passes for large text and graphic components. Though it fails for regular text, the design only includes large text at 64 pt and above.
