My research experience spans education and civil society sectors, with a focus on qualitative research. I have been involved at various stages of the research life cycle, working on data capture, analysis, visualization, and dissemination. Check out some examples of my work below.

QuAL Study on Barriers to Graduation

A rapid qualitative study on barriers to graduation for university students in Guatemala & El Salvador studying at universities supported by Advance, a higher education and workforce development program. Working on a research team of three, I developed instruments; facilitated focus groups and interviews in Guatemala; and coded and analyzed the data for the study, resulting in a written report to synthesize findings. Following this, I co-facilitated workshops with country office staff and the universities to validate and disseminate findings. This project was selected as a finalist for USAID Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (CLA) case competition.

User Experience (UX) Research

As part of a collaboration with fellow NYU graduate students, I worked on a user experience (UX) research project on FHI 360's CivicSpace.tech tool, conducting discovery research later used to develop low-fi and hi-fi prototypes for a website redesign. CivicSpace.tech was developed to promote the integration of digital technologies in civil society work worldwide. User interviews and surveys with donors and implementing partners revealed opportunities to adapt components of the site to reach more users and meet a varying set of needs.

Learning in the Wild Observational Research

As an NYU graduate student I conducted a learning observational study alongside my peers on Kid Nation, a TV show where children work together to create a community. Learning was observed through three learning lenses: constructivism, social constructivism, and situativity, resulting in distinct claims and conceptual frameworks around learning taking place, as well as an overarching framework of learning tying claims together. The final report was presented in the form of a website.
